Week 4: Magazine Cover Critique (5/31)
  • Your Magazine Cover draft is due
  • Class Lesson: Chapter 9: Working With Styles (Get the folder from me)
Week 3: Recreating a Magazine Cover 5/24)
  • In this lesson, you'll learn how to:
    • Set up a full page document with a bleed
    • Import a layered PSD file using "Import Options"
    • Format text with careful attention to leading, kerning & tracking
    • Work with a transparency (alpha channel) from Photoshop

 

 

 

 

 

Week 2: InDesign Basics (5/17)
  • We will continue working on the layout exercise. Remember to bring back the lesson folder you started in class.
  • Homework:
    • Complete Chapter 5: "Flowing Text" Tutorial (you'll need to get
      the folder from me or a classmate)
    • Download this assignment folder. Use the InDesign CS5 Keyboard Shortcut guide and complete the worksheet. Apply the shortcuts to reformat the InDesign document to make it look better.
