- Creating the Template for your Chocolate Bar Wrapper (Bring materials)
Week 5 (Feb. 17)
- Discuss the Midterm Project: Custom Chocolate Bar Wrapper
- Illustrator Brushes & the Blob Tool
- Typographic Brush Assignment
- Homework #4
- Complete the Typographic Brush Assignment
- Bring in preliminary designs for your Chocolate Bar
- Bring in materials to create your Chocolate Bar Template, including:
- A Ruler
- Scissors
- The Chocolate bar you will be using
- A Pencil
Week 4 (Feb. 10 - Classes Cancelled)
Week 3 (Feb. 3)
- Tracing Bitmapped Images in Illustrator
- Homework #3
- Select 1 Sports Logo and 1 Cartoon Character from this folder. Place the file in illustrator and trace it.
- Bring in at least 2 sketch designs for your Chocolate Bar
Week 2
- Create Type (Chapter 19)
- Brushes (Chapter 23)
- Homework #2: Using 1 Typeface only, display your name in the regular manner, then redesign it with a modified version of the Typeface. You must create outlines in order to do this.

Week 1
- Review Course Syllabus, Grading & Expectations
- A Few Review Exercises
- Homework #1: Using the techniques covered in the lesson, create a Children's Book Cover. It must include a title and "Illustrated By (your name)". Remember to outline all your fonts when the layout is done.
Midterm Project
Design a Custom Chocolate Bar Wrapper. Details will be handed out soon. But you can start sketching your ideas immediately.
Final Project
Part 1: Design an original logo for bottled water.
Part 2: Design your own freelance/designer logo. Details later on, but you can start sketching now :)
