The 6 Type Tools

 

There are 6 different kinds of Type Tools in Illustrator:



1. Regular Type Tool ("T")
2. Area Type Tool (enters type into enclosed paths)
3. Path-type Tool (enters type on paths)
4. Vertical Type Tool (sets type in a vertical direction)
5. Vertical-path Type Tool (enters vertical type on paths)
6. Vertical Area Type Tool (enters vertical type into enclosed paths)
