Adobe Illustrator CS4

Exercise 1: Re-Assemble the Puppy

 

Download the source file (Puppy.zip)

1. After you download the file, unzip the file from the zipped folder.

2. From Illustrator CS, File > Open > "L2strt_02"

3. Using the Selection Tool (V), put each piece of the dog on the left in its proper position. Avoid resizing the shapes.

Helpful Tips:

• To reorder the shapes, Right-Click > Arrange > Send to Back or Right-Click > Arrange >Bring to Front.
  
  

• Duplicating the Eye. Once you get the eye in position, click on the Black circle. Hold the SHIFT key and click on the Green circle and White circle. Hold the ALT key with the Selection Tool and drag a copy of the eye over. Let go of the mouse first, then the ALT key!
  
  

• Reshape the Hair. Use the Direct Selection Tool (A) to select the individual Anchor Points and move them. You can directly click on an Anchor Point to select it or you can draw a marquee around it to select it.
