Your Final Project: Design a Music CD

 

Due Date: Week 14 (If you turn it in Week 13, you'll get 5 pts. extra)

Instructions
Download the CD Project Template Files. The submitted project will consist of 4 PSD files and 1 multipage PDF. I will show you how to convert the files into a PDF package.

 

Refer to your Lookbook for visual ideas.

 

You Will Be Graded On:

 

• ORIGINALITY:

  • If you simply get a picture an place text on it you will not get as good a grade as someone who does more image manipulation (layer masking, surrealism, adjustment layers). In other words, the more photoshop work I see, the better the grade. Of course, it has to look decent as well.
    
    

• Design Integrity

  • did you choose the correct kind of image for the document size?

  • did you utilize the correct selection techniques for combining images?

  • did you transform images correctly?

  • does you layout clearly convey a message, concept, or idea?

  • did you work within a color scheme?
    
    

• Color

  • what color scheme did you use?

  • what was your rationale for choosing those colors?

  • did you use the correct technique(s) for modifying colors?
    
    

• Type

  • Does your typeface (font) match the message, concept, or idea?

  • Is your text legible (readable)?

  • Are you utilizing basic principles of alignment, contrast, etc?
